Biography:
Leticia Gonçalves received her PhD in 2012 on the chemical modification of the natural pigments betalains for biotechnological applications with Prof. Bastos at UFABC in Brazil. After her defense, she worked in different multidisciplinary research projects in the interface of chemistry and biology at USP in Brazil with Prof. Bastos and Prof. Bechara, at TU Wien in Austria with Prof. Mihovilovic and at Yale School of Medicine in USA with Dr. Brash. She joined the ICN at UCA in the Bioactive Molecules team coordinated by Dr. Benhida for the development of chemical tools and bioactive molecules to study and circumvent drug resistance mechanisms. Currently, she works as project manager in the chemistry department of Roca Therapeutics on drug discovery and development programs directed towards the treatment of ocular diseases.
